Fashion students took part in a textile burn lab to determine the fiber content of the fabrics we use. Using the scientific method, students deduce what fiber content is in each swatch to determine the qualities and performance factors of fabrics.

Trunk or Treat by CJ was a success! Cocoa, cider, donations of candy, cup a noodle and Doritos were enjoyed. Kids played pumpkin tic-tac-toe, witch hat ring toss, and cornhole. Candy filled cars lined the loop. ITS3 students had a costume and favorite trunk contest.
Medical Assisting students are showing the proper use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) to keep ourselves safe from biohazardous materials in the healthcare field.
Rotary members discussed the Four-Way Test (out of country) and the Rotary Interact Club (local) with Dental students. Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self.
The House Capital Budget Committee was here for lunch and a tour. The committee considers the state capital budget which approves money for the construction and repair of public buildings and for other long-term investments, such as land acquisitions and transfers.
Guest speaker Candice Freedman from Portland Fashion Institute visited Fashion Design.
PFI is an accredited 2-year certificated program in Apparel Designer, Apparel Technical Developer, or Apparel Entrepreneurship. With an 80% placement of completers, PFI has helped many students from Fashion Design at Cascadia Tech launch into their own careers in Fashion.
Help us celebrate Medical Assistant Recognition week! Thank you to our Medical Assisting Instructors Justin Di Pietra and BriAnne Hollett for all they do for our students.
We hosted local principals and counselors for breakfast and a tour today. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Culinary, Baking & Pastry Arts students prepared and served braised pork tamales, jalapeño spears, provolone cheese on top a bed of pinto beans, mole and a poached egg with house made concha bread.
